We do not remotely control your PC. Because causes vary by setup, a complete fix cannot be guaranteed. The main diagnostic areas are listed below.

CPU & cooling

29

High load is not the only issue—cooling performance and aging hardware can also be the cause.

GPU & drivers

30

OBS and games share the same GPU resources, so load, drivers, and VRAM all matter together.

Mouse, keyboard & controller

30

High polling rates and background utility software can add unexpected CPU overhead.

USB & capture devices

30

When video freezes or cuts out, the root cause may be USB bandwidth or device topology rather than OBS.

Monitors & DP/HDMI

32

High refresh rates, cable specs, HDR, and VRR can all affect capture and streaming behavior.

Motherboard, BIOS & PCIe

27

Motherboard settings, BIOS issues, and PCIe lane sharing are easy to miss but can be the real cause.

Network & streaming platforms

Virtual cameras & third-party apps

31

OBS Virtual Camera, beauty tools, meeting apps and streaming utilities can compete for the same camera, GPU or virtual devices, causing detection failures and additional load.

Hardware aging & physical condition

30

Even when settings are correct, aging power supplies, connectors, cables, or other components—as well as corrosion or poor electrical contact—can cause intermittent instability.

Common questions about OBS Doctor

Will every problem be fixed?

Causes vary by hardware, network, software, and environment, so we cannot guarantee that every issue can be resolved. The service is designed to organize likely causes and isolate what should be checked next.

Do I need to be technical?

You can follow the process even if you are not familiar with technical terms. Staff will guide you through the relevant checks.

What should I prepare before contacting you?

Start by describing the symptoms on Discord. We may then ask for an OBS log, screenshots, hardware details, or other information when necessary.

Will you remotely control my PC?

We do not take remote control of your computer. If screen sharing is used, you remain in control and operate the PC yourself.

Is there a fee?

OBS Doctor diagnostic tools and 1-to-1 screen-sharing support are exclusive support services for users with an active paid SkiinOBS plan.

Is there a special plan for streamers and creators?

We offer a special plan for streamers and creators that is available even if you are not a paid SkiinOBS user. Contact us on Discord for details.
